Gum health
Veneers sit at the gum line, so the gums have to be healthy before anything is designed or prepared.

Shade, shape and proportion decided with you rather than off a chart, then made to fit and finished in the practice's own lab. Dr. Gregory Bennett will also tell you when veneers are the wrong answer.
Shade, shape and proportion are the three that decide whether a case reads as natural or obvious. They get settled with you, against your facial features, skin tone and gum line.

"Veneer" covers two quite different treatments, and the difference shows up years later. Composite bonding is resin shaped onto the tooth in the chair: quicker and cheaper, but more opaque, more prone to staining, and typically lasting around four to eight years. Porcelain is made to fit you, holds its colour, and lasts ten to twenty years or more with proper care.

A veneer covers a tooth; it does not repair one. Anything structural is treated first.
Grinding and clenching shorten the life of any restoration, so how you use your teeth is part of the assessment.
If the goal is straighter teeth rather than covered ones, Invisalign® or Six Month Smiles is usually the better answer.
This clinical case is from Arvada Dental Center's official patient gallery. Every case is designed individually, so your own result depends on your teeth, your gums and the design agreed with you.
Before
AfterGums, decay and bite are checked, and Dr. Bennett says whether veneers are the right route for what you want to change.
A small portion of enamel is removed from the front of each treated tooth so the veneer sits flush, and the design is settled with you.
The veneers are made to your agreed shade, shape and proportion and finished in the practice's own lab.
The finished veneers are fitted and bonded at the second visit, and the bite is checked before you leave.
